Three Revelations

The three revelations:

I. Psalm 16:10 The Messiah משיח and

the resurrection from the dead תחית המתים .

II. Deuteronomy 18:15-19 The voice of G-d and the fire at Mt. Sinai.

III. Exodus 19:13 The connection between the trumpet at Mt. Sinai

and the Jubilee.

I. Psalm 16:10 is a prophecy of the resurrection of the Messiah.

“Neither will you let your Holy One see corruption.”

לא תתן חסידך לראות שחת:

a. Here the word “Holy One” חסידיך is not referring to David the King

דוד המלך because David’s body saw corruption. It is referring to the Son of David. The Hebrew word ‘hassid’ חסיד is used here instead of kadosh קדוש because hesed חסד means grace or mercy, and grace and truth come through the Messiah.

b. The word ‘hassid’ is also written in the SINGULAR חָסִידְיךָ with : UNDER THE ד AND NOT IN THE PLURAL. However the plural can also be in the singular. This indicates that in the resurrection of the ONE Messiah there is contained the resurrection of the MANY believers in Him. This occurred in the resurrection of Yeshua the son of David ישוע הבן דוד when G-d raised him from the dead on the third day. The prophecy was thus fulfilled.

c. It has been objected that the word ‘corruption’ שחת in this prophecy does not refer to the corruption of the body, but that it instead means ‘to destroy, or not live out one’s allotted years on earth but die before one’s time.’ Therefore this verse פסוק does not refer to the resurrection.

This objection is overruled however, by the verse פסוק in Psalm 49:8-9:

“For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceased forever: That he should still live forever, and not see corruption.”

ויקר פדיון נפשם יחדל לעולם:

ויחי עוד לנצח לא יראה השחת:

Here in this great Psalm for the house of mourning which is recited after the Shacharit and the Maariv, the verse פסוק is obviously referring to the corruption of the body in the grave. But the phrase is EXACTLY THE SAME as the phrase used in Psalm 16:10. This proves that it also refers to the corruption of the body in the grave, and therefore it is a prophecy of the resurrection.

II. Deuteronomy 18:15-19. The voice of G-d קול הוה

and the fire at Mt. Sinai (Horeb).

“For HASHEM your G-d will raise up to you a Prophet

from the midst of you, of your brothers,

like me, and you shall listen to him.

According to all that you desired of HASHEM your G-d in Horeb

in the day of the assembly, saying,

Let me not hear again the voice of the L-RD my G-d,

neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

And HASHEM said to me, They have spoken well

that which they have spoken.

I will raise up to them a Prophet from among their brothers,

like you, and I will put my words in his mouth;

and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hear

my words which he shall speak in my name,

I will require it of him.”

The voice of G-d קול יהוה and the fire of G-d causes the FLESH to DIE. Israel was unregenerate here. The unregenerate cannot live in the glory of G-d.

When Israel says they cannot live in it, HASHEM says that they have WELL SPOKEN. Then He speaks about the Messiah. HASHEM will raise up the Prophet-the Messiah out of ISRAEL, not another nation. HE WILL BEAR THE GLORY OF G-D, AS MOSES DID. He will take the Glory from outside on Mt. Horeb, and put it in the HEART. This is Regeneration. It causes the circumcision of the heart, and the words of the prophet Jeremiah to be fulfilled when HASHEM says “I will put my Torah in their midst and upon their hearts I will write it.” Jeremiah 31:32

נתתי את תורתי בקרבם

ועל לבם אכתבנה:

The Messiah Yeshua משיח ישוע accomplishes this in us when we believe upon him.

The GLORY OF THE VOICE AND THE FIRE kills the FLESH. This causes the words of the prophet to be fulfilled “we die daily.” The scriptures also says “Death works in us, but life in you.” And again it says “He that is in the Messiah is DEAD TO SIN.” And again he says “He puts to death the deeds of the body.” This means the voice and the fire of the Spirit of G-d רוח יהוה puts to death the deeds of the FLESH.

In the Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע

HASHEM FULFILLS THE PROPHECY

ABOUT THE PROPHET

WHICH HE GAVE TO MOSES

AT MT. HOREB (SINAI).

This is why HASHEM said to Moses

that Israel had well spoken.

III. Exodus 19:13. The connection between the trumpet at Mt. Sinai and the Jubilee.

“When the ‘trumpet’ sounds long–or in the midst of the sound of the trumpet–they shall come up into the mountain (Sinai).”

במשך היובל המה יעלו בהר:

The word for ‘the trumpet’ here is the Hebrew word ‘ha yovelהיובל . The word ‘yovel’ יובל is used instead of the word ‘shofar’ שופר . This is the ONLY TIME yovel יובל is used in this passage. The rest of the time the word ‘shofar’ שופר is used for trumpet or the ‘kol shofar’ קול שופר for the ‘voice of the trumpet.’

It is also the FIRST TIME that the word ‘yovel’ יובל is used in the Torah.

The next time that the word ‘yovel’ יובל appears in the Torah is in the commandment by HASHEM to Israel to keep the Year of Jubilee in

Leviticus 25:9-11. Furthermore it is THE WORD used for ‘Jubilee’ in Leviticus 25:10 and 11.

“Then you shall cause the trumpet of the truah to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall you make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

And you shall make holy the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all the inhabitants of it: it shall be a jubilee to you; and you shall return every man to his possession, and you shall return every man to his family.

A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be to you.”

והעברת שופר תרועה בחדש השבעי

בעשור לחדש ביום הכפרים

תעבירו שופר בכל ארצכם:

וקדשתם את שנת החמשים שנה

וקראתם דרור בארץ לכל ישביה

יובל הוא תהיה לכם

ושבתם איש אל אחזתו

ואיש אל משפחתו תשבו:

יובל הוא שנת החמשים:

The word ‘yovel’ יובל also seems to be related to the word for yavoolah יבולה which is the word used for INCREASE in the great BLESSING OF HASHEM which immediately follows in Leviticus 26.

“And the earth shall yield her increase.”

ונתנה הארץ יבולה

Israel has NEVER kept the commandment of the Jubilee.

This seems to signify that when Israel keeps the commandment of the Jubilee, she will be brought to the GLORY OF G-D. The glory of G-d revealed on Mt. Sinai will be placed in her midst in the Messiah. So G-d’s Shekinah שכינה will dwell in her midst, in the midst of Mt. Zion and Jerusalem, when Yeshua ישוע reigns from Jerusalem. He will keep the ‘yovel’. The prophet Isaiah says in Isaiah 9:7 that “of the increase of His Government and of peace there shall be no end.”
