Jacob and His Personal Revelation of HASHEM

Jacob spoke to Joseph in Egypt and made mention to Joseph of his personal revelation.

And it came to pass after these things, that one said to Joseph, Behold, your father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, your son Joseph comes to see you: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.

And Jacob said to Joseph, G-d Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

and said to me, Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession.

Genesis 48:1-4

Jacob lived by this personal revelation of HASHEM.  Whatever he did, it was always in his subconscious mind.  He had a revelation with a promise.   And it shaped Jacob’s entire life.  This was also his hope for his future.

Jacob’s portion is the portion for every Jewish person.  HASHEM desires every Jew to have his or her own personal revelation of HASHEM, and that revelation carries a portion with a promise.

Moses himself rejoiced in his own revelation and his own personal portion.

Moses was glad in his portion.

Moses did not seek another man’s portion.  He was satisfied with his own personal portion, and he rejoiced in it.

This is the desire of HASHEM and He pronounces it explicitly:

Behold, the days come, says HASHEM, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband to them, says HASHEM.

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says HASHEM: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their hearts will I write it; and I will be their G-d, and they shall be my people:

and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know HASHEM; for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says HASHEM: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

And again HASHEM says:

And I will betroth you to me forever; yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, and in justice, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.

I will betroth you to me in faith; and you shalt know HASHEM.

Notice that HASHEM says that in this new covenant that every man shall know HASHEM for himself, and that no man will have to teach him.  This means that every man or woman in Israel will have a unique personal revelation from HASHEM, and HASHEM will give a unique personal promise, just as Jacob had his own personal revelation.

The Messiah המשיח confirmed and established this fact in the Scripture to every Jew when He said: “This is the new covenant in my blood.”  Every Jew can enter through Him into a personal relationship with HASHEM, and receive his own personal revelation of HASHEM, and his own personal promise from HASHEM.

This is confirmed and sealed by the Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע when He sends

the Spirit of G-d רוח האלהים who will come upon and dwell within every person who enters into this new covenant with Him.  HASHEM gives every Jew a unique anointing and his own personal promise.  This promise is that he will partake of the eternal life of the Messiah המשיח and that he will share in the physical resurrection of the Messiah המשיח.  The Messiah Yeshua המשיח ישוע will give him a physical resurrection body that is like His own resurrected body, and he shall live forever.

Our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob also looked for this, because although they were sojourners in the land of promise, they looked for a city whose builder and maker is G-d.

By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he went.

By faith he became a sojourner in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

for he looked for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is G-d.

But now they desire a better dwelling, that is, a heavenly: wherefore G-d is not ashamed to be called their G-d; for he hath prepared for them a city.

Jacob emphasized this fact, knowing that he had his own personal portion in it, when he made Joseph swear to him that he would not bury his body in the land of Egypt.

And the time drew near that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said to him, If now I have found favor in your sight, put, I pray you, your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me: bury me not, I pray you, in Egypt;

but when I sleep with my fathers, you shall carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their burying-place. And he said, I will do as you have said.

And he said, Swear to me: and he sware to him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed’s head.
