Counting the Omer and the Kingdom

In PESUKEI D’ZIMRAH פסוקי דזמרה

both for the Shacharit for Sabbath and Festivals

and for the Weekday Shacharit

the blessing of David, King of Israel, דוד מלך ישראל

in I Chronicles 29:9-13 is said aloud.

David blessed HASHEM in the presence

of the entire congregation of Israel for the

abundance of the offerings that he himself,

and all of Israel, had laid up for the

building of the temple of HASHEM

in Jerusalem בירושלים.

This connects the Counting of the Omer ספירת העומר

with the Kingdom of HASHEM and of David,

because four of the attributes in the

Counting of the Omer are mentioned

consecutively and in the same order

in the Counting of the Omer that they

are declared by David in this one

of his last great praises to HASHEM.

“The people of Israel rejoiced,

because that they offered willingly,

because with perfect heart

they offered willingly to HASHEM:

And David the king also

rejoiced with great joy.

Wherefore David blessed HASHEM

before all the congregation:

And David said, Blessed be you

HASHEM G-d of Israel our father,

forever and ever.

Yours, O LORD, is the greatness,

and the power, and the glorious beauty,

and the victory, and the majesty;

for all that is in the heaven

and in the earth yours;

your is the Kingdom, O LORD,

and you are exalted as head above all.

Both riches and honor come from you,

and you reign over all;

and in your hand is power and might;

and in your hand it is to make great,

and to give strength to all.”

וישמחו העם על התנדבם

כי בלב שלם התנדבו ליהוה

וגם דויד המלך שמח שמחה גדולה:

ויברך דויד את יהוה

לעיני כל הקהל

ויאמר דויד ברוך אתה

יהוה אלהי ישראל אבינו

מעולם ועד עולם:

לך יהוה הגדלה והגבורה

והתפארת והנצח וההוד

כי כל בשמים ובארץ לך יהוה

הממלכה והמתנשא לכל לראש:

והעשר והכבוד מלפניך

ואתה מושל בכל

ובידך כח וגבורה

ובידך לגדל ולחזק לכל:

The attributes or graces are listed as follows:

1. חסד – Mercy.

2. גבורה – Might or Power.

3. תפארת – Beauty or Splendor.

4. נצח – Victory or Eternity.

5. הוד – Glorious Radiance or Thankgiving.

6. יסוד – Foundation or Establishment.

7. מלכות – Kingdom.

Mercy חסד is added as number one

in the Counting of the Omer because it

is one of the Thirteen Attributes of HASHEM

listed in Exodus 34:6,7:

“And HASHEM passed by before him,

and proclaimed HASHEM, HASHEM, G-d,

compassionate and gracious, longsuffering,

abundant in mercy and truth,

keeping mercy for thousands…”

ויעבר יהוה על פניו ויקרא

יהוה יהוה אל

רחום וחנון ארך אפים

ורב חסד ואמת:

נצר חסד לאלפים

Mercy is mentioned TWO TIMES;

the second time HASHEM

keeps Mercy to a THOUSAND (generations).

This is the first attribute of the

Kingdom of HASHEM מלכות יהוה.

Mercy is also listed as an Attribute of HASHEM

in Psalm 145 which is the Psalm

of the Messianic Kingdom, and the

Messianic Age. This further strengthens its

connection to the Kingdom of HASHEM.

“HASHEM is gracous, and full of compassion,

slow to anger, and of great mercy.”

חנון ורחום יהוה

ארך אפים וגדל חסד :

Mercy is the basis of the Grace of G-d,

therefore it is number one.

The sixth attribute in the

Counting of the Omer ספירת העומר is

Foundation יסוד because

Kingdom of HASHEM has a foundation,

which, like the earth, can never be moved.

Psalm 104:5.

“Who founded the earth on her pillars,

that is should not be removed forever.”

יסד ארך על מכוניה

בל תמוט עולם ועד:

The seventh attribute in

the Counting of the Omer

is the Kingdom מלכות

because it is the attribute

of the Shabbat שבת in

the Messianic Age which is

the “Day in which ALL is SHABBAT”

יום שכולו שבת WHEN THE

KINGDOM AND KNOWLEDGE OF HASHEM

FILL ALL THE EARTH.

Therefore the Kingdom מלכות is given

the place of being counted on the seventh day.

THUS ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF EVERY WEEK,

THE KINGDOM OF HASHEM מלכות יהוה

IS PLACED IN EACH ONE OF THESE ATTRIBUTES.

1. מלכות שבחסד The Kingdom which is in Mercy.

This is the 7th day.

2. מלכות שבגבורה – The Kingdom which is in Might or Power

This is the 14th day.

3. מלכות שבתפארת – The Kingdom which is in Beauty or Splendor.

This is the 21st day.

4. מלכות שבנצח – The Kingdom which is in Victory or Eternity.

This is the 28th day.

5. מלכות שבהוד – The Kingdom which is in Glorious Majesty or Thanksgiving.

This is the 35th day.

6. מלכות שביסוד – The Kingdom which is in the Foundation.

This is the 42nd day.

7. מלכות שבמלכות – The Kingdom which is in the Kingdom.

This is the 49th day.

THEN IN THE COUNTING OF THE SEVENTH WEEK,

ALL THE ATTRIBUTES OR GRACES

ARE PLACED IN THE KINGDOM.

1. חסד שבמלכות – The Mercy that is in the Kingdom.

This is the 43rd day.

2. גבורה שבמלכות – The Might or Power that is in the Kingdom.

This is the 44th day.

3. תפארת שבמלכות – The Beauty or Splendor that is in the Kingdom.

This is the 45th day.

4. נצח שבמלכות – The Victory or Eternity that is in the Kingdom.

This is the 46th day.

5. הוד שבמלכות – The Majestic Glory or Thanksgiving that is in the Kingdom.

This is the 47th day.

6. יסוד שבמלכות – The Foundation that is in the Kingdom.

This is the 48th day.

7. מלכות שבמלכות – The Kingdom that is in the Kingdom.

This is the 49th day.

Thus in the Counting of the Omer

the Sabbath or the Kingdom is placed

into each of the attributes on the seventh day.

In addition, in the seventh week,

during the Counting of the Omer,

all the attributes are placed

into the Sabbath or the Kingdom.

Thus the seventh day is given

all the characteristics of all the other attributes,

until it culminates in being

the attribute of itself on the

forty ninth day.

This day precedes the event

of the feast of Shavuot,

on the fiftieth day,

the giving of the Torah, and

the outpouring of the Holy Spirit רוח הקודש

as was prophesied by Joel the Prophet.

Joel 2:28-30:

“And it shall come to pass afterward,

that I will pour out my Spirit

upon all flesh;

and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

your old men shall dream dreams,

your young men shall see visions:

And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids,

in those days will I pour out my Spirit.”

והיה אחרי כן

אשפוך את רוחי

על כל בשר

ונבאו בניכם ובנותיכם

זקניכם חלמות יחלמון

בחוריכם חזינות יראו:

וגם על העבדים ועל השפחות

בימים ההמה אשפוך את רוחי :

These two events are an integral part

of the establishment of

the Kingdom of HASHEM מלכות יהוה

on the earth.

This is also connected to the Jubilee היובל .

In the Fiftieth Year, on the Day of Atonement,

the Shofar was blown throughout Israel,

announcing freedom throughout the land.

As a result comes great LIBERTY דרור ,

the deliverance from all debt and slavery,

and the restoration of every man to his portion,

and to his inheritance,

and to the blessing that he inherited

from his fathers according to the

appointment and the blessing of HASHEM.

The deliverance from debts,

the freedom, the refreshing, the renewing,

the rest from bondage and servitude

are showered as a magnificent blessing

from HASHEM UPON ALL ISRAEL.

In the land the property lines

are redrawn by HASHEM TO

WHAT THEY WERE IN HIS

ORIGINAL BLESSING,

AND EACH MAN IN EACH TRIBE

IS RESTORED TO THE VALUE

OF HIS ORIGINAL INHERITANCE

AS IT WAS ESTABLISHED IN

THE BEGINNING BY HASHEM.

This is one of the great Characteristics,

of the Kingdom of HASHEM,

WHICH IN THE MILLENIAL AGE

IS THE KINGDOM OF DAVID

THROUGH HIS SON,

THE MESSIAH YESHUA המשיח ישוע

WHO REIGNS FROM JERUSALEM

OVER ALL THE EARTH.

THIS IS THE DAY IN WHICH

ALL IS SHABBAT יום שכולו שבת .

The children of Israel בני ישראל

learned this discipline in the Wilderness במדבר

when they had to gather manna

every day except the Shabbat שבת .

The quantity of manna that they

had to gather was the OMER עומר .

This is the same measure as in the

daily Counting of the Omer ספירת עומר

which is one tenth of an Ephah,

or about four and one half pounds.

They had to gather the manna each day,

but on the sixth day, which is the

foundation day יסוד, they gathered

a DOUBLE PORTION,

which allowed them to rest,

or to cease from their own labors,

on the Shabbat.

They were resting in the

KINGDOM WORK OF HASHEM.

In Psalm 90:12 Moses enjoined

the children of Israel to

number their days in order

that they might gain wisdom.

“So teach us to number our days,

that our hearts may gain wisdom.”

למנות ימינו כן הודע

ונבא לבב חכמה:

The root of ‘to gain wisdom’

here is ‘to prophesy.

This means that Israel’s eyes

were to be enlightened as to

what is the eternal Kingdom of HASHEM.

Thus each man sees

what is the future for himself,

and what is the future

for all Israel in the Redemption הפדות

which is in the Messiah Yeshua. המשיח ישוע .

This is the great hope of Israel. תקות ישראל .

Yeshua said this to his students תלמידים

when he assured them,

“Fear not, little flock,

it is the Father’s good pleasure

to give you the kingdom.”

אל תירא העדר הצאן הקטן

כי לרצון היה מלפני אביכם

לתת לכם את המלכות:

Again it is written in Psalm 37:11,18,22,29,34.

“But the meek shall inherit the earth;

and shall delight themselves

in the abundance of peace.

HASHEM knows the days of the upright;

and their inheritance shall be forever.

For such as be blessed of Him

shall inherit the earth;

and they that be cursed of him

shall be cut off.

The righteous shall inherit the land,

and dwell therein forever.

Wait on HASHEM, and keep His way,

and He shall exalt you to inherit the land:

when the wicked are cut off,

you shall see it.”

וענוים יירשו ארץ

והתענגו על רב שלום:

יודע יהוה ימי תמימם

ונחלתם לעולם תהיה:

כי מברכיו יירשו ארץ

ומקלליו יכרתו:

צדיקים יירשו ארץ

וישכנו לעד עליה:

קוה אל יהוה ושמר דרכו

וירוממך לרשת ארץ

בהכרת רשעים תראה:

The Messiah Yeshua משיח ישוע

demonstrated the power גבורה

of the Kingdom of HASHEM מלכות יהוה

when he cast out devils.

“And if I cast out devils

by the finger of G-d באצבע אלהים

know that the Kingdom of G-d מלכות אלהים

is come upon you.”

ואם באצבע אלהים

מגרש אני את השדים

כי אז הגיעה אליכם

מלכות האלהים:

Yeshua ישוע also gave to his disciples תלמידיו

the power and authority

to cast out devils.

“And he called his twelve disciples-students

together, and gave them power and authority

over all devils [to cast them out].”

לאחר שבנס ישוע

את השנים עשר תלמידים

ונתן להם כח וסמכות

על כל השדים לגרש אותם:

After Yeshua rose from the dead,

he gathered his students תלמידים together

to him in Jerusalem.

There they asked him the question:

“Lord, will you at this time

restore again the Kingdom to Israel?”

אדוננו האם כזמן הזה

תשיב את המלכות לישראל:

His answer to them was:

“It is not for you to know the times or the seasons,

which the Father has put in his own power.

But you shall receive power after

that the Holy Spirit רוח הקודש

is come upon you:

and you shall be witnesses to me

both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea,

and in Samaria,

and to the uttermost part of the earth.”

לא לכם לדעת עתים וזמנים

שקבע האב בסמכותו שלו

אבל תקבלו כח בבוא עליכם

רוח הקודש

ותהיו עדי הן בירושלים

והן בכל יהודה ושומרון

ועל כל אפסי ארץ:

This is to fulfill the prophecy in Psalm 98:
“He has remembered his mercy and his faith

toward the house of Israel:

all the ends of the earth have seen

the salvation (Yeshua) of HASHEM.”

זבר חסדו ואמונתו לבית ישראת

ראו כל אפסי ארץ את ישועת אלהינו:

And again,

“HASHEM has made known his Yeshua:

His righteousness has he openly showed

in the sight of the nations.

His right hand, his holy arm

has gotten him the victory.”

הודיע יהוה ישועתו

לעיני הגוים גלה צדקתו:

הושיעה לו ימינו וזרוע קדשו :

On Shavuot, the fiftieth day,

the Holy Spirit הרוח הקודש

was poured out upon Israel

according to the words of Joel the Prophet.

The word of the LORD then went out

from Jerusalem to all the nations.

“Because from Zion shall go forth the Torah,

and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”

כי מציון תצא תורה

ודבר יהוה מירושלים:

The reason that the period of time

from Shavuot שבועות to Succot סוכות

is not numbered is because

it is the period of time

of the ingathering of the nations,

and the declaring of the Kingdom of HASHEM

among them.

Because it is written,

“And in that day there shall be

a root of Jesse, (the Messiah Yeshua),

who shall stand for an ensign to the people,

to him shall the Gentiles seek:

and his rest shall be glorious.”

Isaiah 11:10

והיה ביום ההוא שורש ישי

אשר עומד לנס עמים

אליו גוים ידרשו

והיתה מנחתו כבוד:

And again it is written:

“And He said,

It is a light thing that you should be my servant,

to raise up the tribes of Jacob,

and to restore the preserved of Israel.

I will also give you

for a light to the Gentiles-Nations גוים

that you may be my salvation – Yeshua – ישוע

to the ends of the earth.”

Isaiah 49:6.

ויאמר נקל מהיותך לי

עבד להקים את שבטי יעקב

ונצירי ישראל להשיב

ונתתיך לאור גוים

להיות ישועתי

עד קצה הארץ:

And a third time HASHEM says:

“I, HASHEM, have called you in righteousness,

and will hold your hand,

and will keep you,

and give you for a covenant of the people,

for a light of the Gentiles-Nations גוים .”

Isaiah 42:6.

אני יהוה קראתיך בצדק

ואחזק בידך ואצרך

ואתנך לברית עם

לאור גוים:

The Kingdom of HASHEM מלכות יהוה

is thus established in the hand

of the MESSIAH YESHUA

המשיח ישוע .
